Hi, I’m James Frost

I’m an experienced, freelance fundraiser working with community groups, CICs and creative practitioners across the UK. I help people who are new to the funding world and small-medium organisations looking to develop their services. I write grant applications, provide crowdfunding support and mentor people in the art of fundraising.

Work with me on a
funding application

Preparation

The first steps are done on email to get an overview of your project and check you are eligible to apply for funding. We will then have a meeting (online or in-person) to discuss your work in detail, draw up a budget and timeline, and agree a framework for the bid.

Writing

I will take everything away and carefully consider how to present your case to the funder, drawing on all my years of fundraising experience. I will ensure the application is clearly laid out, tells a compelling story and is aligned with the funder’s objectives.

Completion

Once the application is ready, you will have a chance to check it over and raise any queries, before we submit. Typically you then have to wait 2-3 months to hear the result, and a further 2-3 weeks to receive the money if the bid has been successful.

“Thanks to amazing fundraiser James Frost, we’ve been awarded arts funding to run theatre groups for women and migrants/refugees. So happy! I highly recommend working with James. It's insightful, pleasurable and effective.”

Do You Need A Fundraiser?

“I Haven’t Got Time To Write Funding Applications”

Many organisations do not have time to write funding bids so many great ideas are left on the shelf and never reach the people that would benefit from them.

Instead, let me take charge of the whole process and write the application for you. Before long, a well-funded project will be up and running.

“I Don’t Really Know What I’m Doing”

Many artists and community groups do not have experience of bid-writing, so while their applications may be full of passion, they fall down on the detail.

I help groups negotiate the funding language and make applications that are well thought out, well evidenced, clearly costed and meet the criteria.

“My Bids Get Rejected - I Don’t Know Why”

Many people are firing off funding applications without having checked the small print or really understanding what funders are looking for.

I will ensure you are applying for the right grants and your application is professionally written, clearly explained and fit for purpose.
